DEVOTION: INTENSITY FOR GOD REALIZATION

What is that devotion? How does it relate to intensity? And if God is already dwelling inside of us, why is such instensity and devotion required to know that?

Devotion is using all of one's energy, intensity and mental force to attain an internal or external goal. Upon attaining the goal, devotion dissolves.
This devotion is a tool that is used in many ways; however it is commonly attributed to living for God, living as God, or living in a way that permits one to attain the realization of God. When one attains realization of God and then becomes God, he becomes that venerable object of devotion: living as God, he is beyond the idea of devotion itself.

There is no devotion without intensity for attaining that goal. There must be a strong yearn to have that or know that. In the case of God realization, intensity is only in the begining; the closer one gets to attaining God, the devotion becomes a bit more graceful. That devotion itself becomes so woven into your skin that you know nothing else outside of that.

Intensity is not something that is easily had by many. So as complicated as it is, some individuals require devotion to intensity to attaining a devotion for God: they must learn to abandon their dull mind as a means to understand that intensity. The man of the dull mind must first learn how to be intense with his body before he can do the same with his mind. This is one of the reasons people engage in fruit bearing activities of all sort in the begining. Eventually, the fruit itself can become trivial if, and only if, devotion to God and the intensity conversion required for that is kept at the fore of the devotee's mind. The term intensity can be used interchangably with devotion to some extent; but true devotion cannot be had without grace.

Why must there be devotion and intensity to know God that dwells inside of us?
Many seek God in very specific and limited aspects of life. God is everywhere and in everything; God is with form and also without that form. God is the base of all that is seen and known and also all that is unseen and unknowable. Until one becomes God wholly, anything existing as a part of God outside of the whole is merely a transitory tool that can be used to realize the formless presence of that almighty, infinite force.

So in order to know that God inside of our being, you have to use the body and the mind to realize that portion of God. And unless one is devoted to that portion of formlessness dwelling inside of the physical being, one cannot know that. That formlessness exists as itself, by itself. It requires nothing as it is part of everything. It is the perfection existing in nature without force for creating, sustaining or destroying by any hand of man. If one is living in a way that commands no fruit for his work of sorts, Self-Realization is already had: doing absolutely nothing, his being represents the nature of the Self. If a man rests comfortably in his own nature without doubt or thought of his actions or deeds, the idea of devotion will not only confuse him, but also it will not make sense: it will (or could) do harm and dillude him to believe that he is not Self-Realized, when we very well could be.

It is not possible for a man to easily understand the Self and that formlessness: the nature of God. So often, association with religion and devotion to external Prophets, Gods, and Deities become useful tools for strengthening one's devotion in the begining. But it must be remembered, God is the source of all sources: So eventually all external worship becomes transcended. Until that point, a man prays to his pictures, symbols, idols, priests, gurus and teachers until there is an immediate union with himself and all external forms of worship. He has to see and know himself as a devotee in order to understand that devotion. But even devotion itself (in all forms) require some level of association and identification with the body and mind. As man starts to know and live as the Self (by itself), he cannot fully know that Self until all devotion is transcended and abandoned simultaneously. Otherwise, it becomes a bind to a form of lower nature: thereby preventing the full union with that Self inside of him. Living as the Self, nothing aids your existence but God. Living as the Self, nothing is required for you to continually maintain the knowing as that Self: The Self-Realized man is whole in all aspects of his life, doing nothing and requiring nothing. At this level, he is all things. By being whole in his existence, he becomes all things, including devotion and the devoted object itself.

Devotion cannot be abandoned forcefully. The result could be a dilluded understanding of God and a "False-Self-Realization." Upon truly realizing the Self, in that moment, there is nothing left to be undone or done. Like meditation, devotion too will carry you straight to God and into God (the path and the way). Then, all things are had...

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness; then all things shall be added unto you..." ~Lord Jesus (M.6:33)

"Those that set there mind intent on me alone and the thought rested in me alone, he comes straight to me..." ~Lord Krishna (Bhagavad Gita)

WHO IS THAT SPIRITUAL MASTER (GURU) THAT IS REQUIRED TO TAKE YOU TO GOD?

The Spiritual Master is one who is the living, breathing, teaching, guiding manifestation and embodiment of God (Brahmacarya). All that he teaches is known because he lives that life effortlessly. He is the embodiment of God becasue he too (in a previous birth) went from a state of dillusion and ignorance; And now he knows the way and is able to lead others through the dark night of the soul and over and across the ocean of sin: culminating in eternal bliss (Nithyananda). He will end the dullness and dillusion of your being with a few words. He can break your entire veil of ignorance with a glance of the eye or a mere touch of his hand. His presence alone can wash away millions of sins to those that are receptive to the grace of God.

His actions and deeds are easy, comfortable and effortless. He will correct your ways with a firm hand. His words are never wasted. He knows precisely when to console you like a loving mother and when to discipline and guide you firmly like a father. He knows when to be your sibling; and also he knows when to be a jolly and caring friend to you. And with all these respects, he knows precisely when to leave you alone in your solitude and guide you from his heart to your heart in secret. Like God, He will give you tools to help you clear your karmas then send you fierce tests to strengthen you and enliven your soul.

He can transmit knowledge with a loving smile. He can also unlock your potential as a person through your undying devotion to Him alone without doubt. With your devotion, He can heal you because he knows the inner workings of your heart. He can raise your consciousness, vibration and way of living up to his level and even beyond: all the way up to the level of a "Living Deity." A living Saint and Rishi, the Supreme Master (God) comes through him as your saviour and salvation.

VEHICLE IN MEDITATION: GETTING GOD

What is that vehicle (yaana) that aids your meditation?

Please know, that the vehicle itself is able to take you directly to God because it has been to the destination many times before. You are not the driver; you are the passenger. The vehicle is also God. Yes, God takes you to God.

Saints and Rishis say, it is by the grace of your Spiritual Master that you will attain God; only he can take you to God because the Supreme Master is already flowing through him. Only he that has God in him can take, even a fool, to God: the Supreme Master. He knows how to take you across the ocean of sin, through the darkness of the Soul and beyond external perceptions in order to know God. He knows the fountain of bliss from which to drink and absorb. How can one know what to drink of if he has never tasted? The Spiritual Master infinitely drinks from this sacred nectar of God. He will teach you what to feel for and give you the required tools to prepare for your drink; but he cannot drink for you nor catch the nectar for you. So, you must be trusting and devoted to this vehicle (the Spiritual Master). You must trust with every ounce of blood in your body that he knows the path to righteousness and can prepare you for Yoga and God Consciousness (Self-Realization). Not only must you be devoted to your Spiritual Master, but once he gives you glimpses of God (Self-Realization), you must be devoted to that as the Ultimate Supreme Goal. It is as if the Spiritual Master becomes a looking glass for you to peer through; but the Supreme Master is not being shown to you because the Spiritual Master is devoted to your growth. It is because you are devoted to him and, also, to the Supreme Master as the Ultimate Realization of Self and Goal of life, equally. Devotion is key: for first the meditation and then for Self-Realization. Nothing is possible without it.

A real, living Spiritual Master is necessary to meditate and achieve the goal.
Even if a man be born with expanded consciousness and has taken birth as a Jivanmukta (liberated soul), the Spiritual Master is required to show him the way, again and again: otherwise it could be destructive and disasterous along the path to liberation and Self-Realization.

The drinking or absorbing (dhaaya) can only happen upon truly understanding the nature of that nectar(of the thing being absorbed). You must know the taste without doubt. If you have never had apple pie, but you are looking for the best one. How can you know if you don't know what to taste for, what to savor and how to digest easily? One cannot know unless you meet the master of making and eating such. Only the Spiritual Master can teach you of the taste. But in order to be taught this, you must have undying devotion. There can be no doubt in the ability of your Spiritual Master. Doubters go on learning external knowledge. They go on, ignorantly, seeking that which is directly in front of them. Until all doubts are dissipated, the Spiritual Master will not instruct you in the esoteric meanings of the practice: for you will not be able to fully grasp and understand them otherwise. Even if the ocean of bliss is placed directly in front of you, you would not even recognize it to take even a sip, much less drink and absorb.

There is no meditation without a true Spiritual Master to lead you and guide you. And with that, there must be deep devotion to him in order to attain the goal...

WHAT IS MEDITATION?

Meditation itself is a vehicle or a path towards knowing the Self and becoming that essence. It is a means to drink of that "nectar" that will intoxicate a person with supreme knowledge of Self. This is knowledge of God: jumping in wholly and merging with the Ultimate. This is the Philosophy of Philosophies, the Religion of Religions, the God of Gods, The Knowledge of all Knowledge.

The word Dhyanam itself is a composition of root words from the Sanskrit language. The root word Dhaya means drinking, sucking (or taking in) or absorbing. And Yaana means a vehicle of any sort. This term usually refers to a vehicle or means that can take one straight to Self-Realization (God). So the word itself refers to a tool or means that can carry you straight to the Goal: however it is not the Goal, itself.

The purpose of this vehicle is to take you beyond perception. God is beyond perception. To perceive is to appropriate understanding. Can God be limited to external, material understandings? No...So God (knowledge of Self) is Beyond all external perceptions: not even a book can give you access to this knowledge.

What makes the vehicle viable and fit to take you to God and fully absorb that? What exactly is this vehicle/means? Can it be attained or brought into life or is it already had? Is it also beyond perception (like God) or does it take you from perceiving to inifinite transcendence? And how? What exactly is that Meditation? What is being Meditated upon? And what or who is the Meditator?

These are all things to think deeply about. Before one can even begin to think about taking on Meditation, it must be understood what it is you are trying to gain. Allow the curiousities to rise. Allow your interest to flourish about this meditation.

Please reflect deeply on the above. There will be more information to follow.
